Happy Holidays!!

Well, another Christmas has come and gone. This one was just really awesome. It was our first Christmas as a married couple, we got to spend time with family and there were no siblings disputes lol - all in all, a great holiday. :)

We went to my sister's home last night and had Christmas with my side of the family. We have three lil neices who are all within about one year of each other in age (between 18 months and almost 3 years) and they were just hilarious. Made my year, right there. The youngest one doesn't speak. She can, but she just nods and gestures to get her point across. The oldest one doesn't ever stop speaking, so that could be why Zoey (youngest one) doesn't speak at all - can't get a word in edgewise. They were all psychotic and running around. Kept us all laughing for a good three hours.

After that we went over to my folks house and hung out for a few hours. I really enjoy when we get to hang out and catch up with my family. There are many times throughout the year in which I feel as if I am missing out on things with my family too much, so it is always great to me to get to see them for a whole day and just spend some good, quality time with them.

The weather has not been what I would call fabulous, but I did have my white Christmas as I wanted to :) Lots and lots of rain, almost flooding, but then it would start to snow again, and the "white" Christmas happened off and on for the past two days, shich made me content :)

I think that Kirk had a good time too. We had a really good time with his family this evening. His Mom got each of us a Marshmallow Shooter. There was an all our war with marshmallows flying in each and every direction, but it was so much fun to just play and not really realize that we were all acting like children. I now understand why she says that it is a good thing to give toys as presents to adults - makes you remember what it is like to be a child again.

So, to everyone out there with just a little bit of child still left in them - Wishing you a wonderful, fun, safe and fabulous holiday full of joy and love.

Cheers!!

Thoughts and stuff

Hello,

It's been so long. So, much has happened and yet everything is the same. The things that have happened all seem to be such little things, but they all add up to a year of life, of dreams, of hope, happiness, loss, love.

Our lives have changed - and I would say more for the better, than not. We have moved, and then moved again, followed by changing employment. The first move wasn't much at all - just across town. Then we moved one hundred and fifty miles from where we were. We are now closer to family and friends. We are able to see the ones we love more often than once a month now and this brings us joy.

My husband and I got married earlier this year. We had a very small wedding ceremony where only our immediate family attended. This was all my plan, for I have never envisioned having a large wedding. We then threw a large party for friends and family. It was honestly the happiest day of my life. To get to join my life with my love's - forever. <3 I had beautiful flowers - in the colors I have always wanted. Since there was not much money, we went as thrifty as possible. Sure, it was a little different than I would have liked, but the effect was what I wanted - A Party. To celebrate the joy of bringing two families into one. That is the whole point of a wedding anyways. And I feel that it went that way for us.

We acquired a new dog this year. A seven year old Silky-Yorkie mix. When we received her, she was underweight and extremely psychotic lol. Well, she is still slightly psychotic ;) just not as much as she was before. She has gained one whole pound in the last three months - it may not sound like alot, but for a dog that is six pounds, one pound is a large percentage of her body weight! We have noticed that since she is around the healthy body weight for her breed, she has stopped being so much of a psycho. Our thought is that she must be feeling better (healthier, if you will) and so she doesn't feel as threatened as she did before. I am just glad that you can not feel her ribs when you pet her anymore! She now gets along with our Westie much better and will play with him for hours on end. She used to try to "eat his face" anytime he came within a one yard radius of her. And Albus (the Westie - aka West Highland White Terrier) will pet her. It is so funny to watch!! He sticks his front paw on her back and will literally pet her! Makes me laugh everytime I see it :) I have never seen a dog pet another dog before.

We have been looking into more permanent homes recently. We really would like a farmette, but we did find a really nice home in the town we live by currently. It's a really, really small town (250 people) so it would be like living in the country - almost. We haven't made any firm decisions about where we want to stay for the future. We are looking to move to where we would be in the middle (distance wise) to our two families.

I am currently employed part time at a hotel. Not exactly what I see myself doing for the rest of my life, but it is a very nice, slow pace in consideration to what I was doing before. I am not nearly as stressed as I was before and I am very happy to be away from the work environment I used to go to everyday. I do, however, wish one of my bosses good luck with the future of his company, but hope that he does rethink a few things prior to expanding further.

Anyways, I know that I abandoned this blog for many, many months, but I hope to posting again more often. I will, of course, be searching the internet for things that strike me as beautiful and unique, but I will also be including actual posts as well.

Until next time - wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season!!

Cheers!
